With the City of Lights abuzz just hours before the opening ceremony, Saint-Denis celebrated the last leg of the Olympic Torch Relay with elegance and pride. In dialogue with the thousand-year-old basilica cathedral, final resting place of the kings and queens of France, the lightness of the scenography and the nobility of the calm staging reflect the image of a proud city.

As Mathieu Hanotin, mayor of Saint-Denis, puts it, "We've put this pride on the pediment of the city hall, and we want to share it, because we want to show that this is Saint-Denis, that we're a multicultural, cosmopolitan society, and that we're proud of it".

This was the second time in 2024 that Les Petits Français produced a symphonic ceremony in which omnipresent and multicultural live music brought together the richness of our differences in a magical interlude during which even the weather smiled on us.
